I was thinking hollyhock too, Schoolhouse ;) But since that's what you are planting I'll say cucumber, one plant would feed me all summer.

So, hmmmm, for the hollyhock, I wonder if I could ws now, into the snow....would that work? Then I could start some Brandywine tomato seeds.....hmmm.

Rutgers tomato or maybe celebrity since it is indeterminate and produces longer. Good tomatos are so hard to find and these are dependable and flavorful.

Went over to see the new pallette this afternoon - still under lots of snow, so hard to imagine. My new roomies were there and Joyce was saying she has some poppy seeds she hopes are still viable - so excited, as I do to, so we'll need to get them on the ground as soon as the snow gets down further. We've talked about the gardens before, but this is first indication she has seeds.....wow!! Very cool. I'm really leaning towards starting the Brandywines once we are in there next month, I now wonder if it's too late in the season to do some wintersowing.....

Nancy, it is not too late...go for it!! hollyhocks WS great! (and so do foxglove) :-)

I love hardy hibiscus so would sow them (and already have) :-)
