Ha, Rita. You sound like me. By October I'm tired and ready to "veg out" (and pig out) until late March/early April. Then it's off to the races again.

Glad to hear you're okay Rita. No hibernating this "winter" where I am--it's nice enough to go walkabout the garden practically every day. With the hours of daylight getting longer, on those days when the wind isn't straight out of the frozen north, I check out the garden beds, pick up fall debris (neighbor's catalpa tree seed pods everywhere) and mull over ideas of what I want to do once the weather really warms up. Got 145+ gallon milk jugs winter sown and lined up on my breezeway like soldiers. There are a few blooms on my hellebores and the daffs are up about 4 inches along the south foundation.

Old cast iron woodstove in the cellar had the house warmed up to 70 degrees the past week or so but my supply of seasoned firewood is about gone. Thanks to the catastrophic storm back in October, I've got enough free firewood to heat the house all winter the next 2-3 years once it seasons.
