Question about size of bulb

Morning
I have a dumb question for you all I was moveing some bulbs and was told by the lady across from me that is bulb was to big to bloom. I have already moved 4 others about this size. Am I wasting my time by digging these up? Will they bloom? Also sometimes there are small bulbs on the sides I just break them off and plant them too. Am I doing it right or should I leave them on the big bulb?

Oh I think this bulb is an amaryllis .

A very bizarre notion - too small to bloom maybe, but too big??? Usually the bigger the bulb the better the bloom. DId she mean too big a clump perhaps? i.e. too crowded?

You can break off offsets but best to wait until they come away easily. They will grow on until they reach flowering size.
