Frost/Freeze advice needed!

We are supposed to get a freeze here in Pittsburgh. Now, the warning is saying hard freeze, perennials will be damaged or killed, etc. When I look at the hour by hour forecast I'm only seeing it dropping to 31.

So...with perennials up and about, what's the advice? There is no way I could even begin to cover everything. I usually get up early and hose all the frost off before dawn. The thing is, they are saying "freeze" not "frost" and also, I've never had everything up so high during a cold snap. It looks like mid-May in my gardens.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :-/
