I am so envious of people that have tulips return. Down here a few may come back up, but no blooms. I am just going to have to plant some anyway next fall. Your's are so pretty.

They were thicker last year so not all returned but still they look very pretty. I do so love the spring bulbs and tulips are just so colorful.

Tulips will come back if you leave them in a dry bed for the summer. If you water the bed regularly then your best bet is to lift them once their leaves have browned. Store them in a pot tucked away for the summer and replant in mid fall. This is more work, but they will come back. Tulips like dry summers, not well watered beds.

There is nothing you can do about the rain. I rarely water but I like it to rain as the garden needs it. Tulips may like it dry but nothing else does.

I agree which is why I recommend lifting your tulips in late spring and replanting them in the fall if you don't mind the work.
