I bought some Quinault strawberries a number of years ago.
They produce a VERY, very soft berry and have to be eaten the soon after you pick them because they turn to mush right away. I did NOT like that. They did not freeze well either. Boo hiss!
Biennial means they will grow and produce fruit for two years and then die out and have to be replaced. That is exactly what happened to mine, but I didn't mind one bit I was glad to see them go.
I replaced the Quinault with Ozark Beauty and Cardinal. Cardinal is red all the way through and makes huge, juicy berries. I like both varieties very much.
If we have a long Fall season, with lots of rain, warm days and cool night, they both will produce fruit again. Not as heavily, but enough to enjoy fresh berries for breakfast every morning for a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine and I went to a tour of private gardens, and we saw Quinault ones standing tall with nice foliage. They looked different from the ones I already have (don't recall what kind - it's been a long time ago since I planted them).
