We have 2 different kinds (I can't remember which) and we love them.

Sorry I don't have pictures because they haven't yet leafed out. I love the two I planted in 2007, a Petit Bleu and a Blue Knight, and in 2008 they put on a lovely show for such young plants. But if there is a con, it's the fact that they leaf out later than I'd anticipated. I planted them with my daffodils and iris, but they are shrubs meant to show off in late summer and fall, so just don't plant them where you want some coverage first thing in spring. I will plant more as I get the bed space because they are lovely in bloom and fall color.

It's true that they are bare until late May, early June here in our zone. I had a beauty, but had my son moved it and it didn't survive the transplant. I've been very disappointed with the variegated 'Snow Fairy'. They've just sat there and never bloomed when the other had bloomed gloriously.

I just realized I don't have a lot of pics of this bush. It does bloom in the fall for me. I guess I'm all over the oohhs and ahhhhs by fall :) Please excuse all the weeds, apparently I am over weeding by fall too!

This pic is dated September 2007. The Caryopteris is toward the front and I think also the one in the middle. It reseeds for me. I have to cut it back each year.

Okay, so I'm an idiot. We just planted two Sunshine Blues out front.

In back we have Blue Knight. It is fantastic. It got really big (4' x 5'), was covered in blooms & butterflies. That is why we got the two new ones in front. And, they are deer resistant.
