Oh dear. I hear there are punishing storms in Florida and Georgia today, and terrible heat waves in New Mexico.

After World Peace, the one thing I fervently wish for is Weather Control. I would mess up the entire world ecosystem if I was the Queen of Weather. It would rain very politely twice a week, with temps in the mid-seventies.

While watering is not the worst gardening chore, having to do so day in and day out really takes a toll.

Hope the hail and winds didn't destroy your garden!

We've been fortunate this year. We've had a "real spring" -- the kind I remember before 10 years ago. Temperatures and rainfall have been good to us. Today, it will be 91, but with low humidity. Perfect gardening weather....so...off I go!

I am in New Mexico and have had 1 inch of precip this year; so watering is an ongoing chore. Mulch is definitely my friend and I choose plants that are drought tolerant once established. Those are the key words - once established. I winter sowed a couple hundred new plants this year and they are so small they require frequent watering at least for a while. Hoping for rain but nothing in the forecast.

...and we're still waiting here in Austin. Houston got a good storm, but it never made it's way here~~pretty typical. I hear maybe next week. ;o)

It's been raining off and on since Tuesday and with low temps. This morning it's only 53. Yesterday I checked the newly sown zinnia bed around the mailbox and they have germinated! Now I'm hoping they don't freeze their little heads off.
