It is very weird - I'm usually in your position in April but we are having the warmest April since 1891 where I live over this side of the pond and the 4th dryest since 1881. I have actually had to water the veggies on the allotment this year already. We had 3 mm rain (.11 inches) in April. Usually we have around 2 inches. It's supposed to rain at the weekend - thank goodness!

schoolhouse, oh but just think how your plants are loving the moisture! But I do know what you mean about the frustration of waiting to get out and work in the yard. We have had such cold temps, that I just had no ambition to get out there and do anything. We worked in the yard in coats and gloves this weekend as it only got into the low to mid 50's. Later this week it is hopefully going to warm up some, and then rain of course! :-)

I hope all the spring rain does not make for an overly dry summer. I know the plants here loved all the spring rains.

The plants are getting spoiled. When the rains stop, they might well have a tantrum. Ah well. At least you can get outside then.

Yes, I agree about the rain being a blessing in disguise. I think plants look healthier this Spring and blooms are more plentiful and colorful, on flowering plants, the trees and shrubs,too.

Altho I did lose two small arborvitae and both of my large burning bush down on the property line. Not sure about the arborvitae, but I know the rabbits deeply chewed the trunks of the b.bush over winter. They had done it before and last Fall I failed to fence them in. However, there is new growth and leaves at ground level, so I'll lop the tops off and start over.
