WOW newyorkrita! Your gardens are beautiful! How big is your property? It looks like a park.

It is a pretty normal sized surburban lot. What makes it work so that I can have so many shrubs, plants and flowers is that is very multi-level. There are terraced gardens all over the place.

Rita, your garden looks great! I don't remember ever seeing pictures of your pond. Do you keep fish in it over the winter? What about plants for it?

My pond is really a 350 gallon stocktank that I have in ground. I did have fish in there for the past two years but they died over this winter. We had much more snow cover than normal and it was much colder than normal for a long period of time. I am going to get new fish in a couple of days.

It is a pink dogwood in my neighbors yard.

I found two of my neighbors from down the street taking pictures of the front yard the other day. I do get lots of compliments, especially when the roses bloom in June. This year I got many compliments on the spring bulb display.

Love your spring gardens! We're into summer, so I can appreciate them even more. Do you have a sitting area near the pond?

There is no bench there directly by the pond. But it was built for viewing from my front porch which looks down into the garden area. If I sit on one side of the porch I see the pond. Sit on other side and see the rose garden. It is a lovely view from either side.
