Schoolhouse I still plant flowers on family graves.My mother used to bring me to the town I now live in every Memorial Day to visit the graves and plant flowers on them.
By chance I now live here and My mother is 86 and caring for my Dad who is in hospice so they cant come down anymore to help. We do My Grandparents here and my Inlaws in another town. I usually plant deep pink colored geraniums and ageratum with some white alyssum , or White geranium with purple alyssum and bright blue lobelia.
I can identify with the problems of lugging everything needed to plant everything! your setup sounds good.

I've planted some spring bulbs and irises in fall. Planted a hardy pink OGR too. Planted some winter flowering jasmine. Too hot and dry here in the summer to plant flowers at our family cemetery, and there is no water access there.
Did you take pictures? I would love to see how it all turned out.

Oh and thanks. You know I never think to take a photo there, it is a pretty place in the Spring with all the ancient Rodies and Azaleas blooming.

I was svery sick all last year. Ended up having surgery in January.
Am slowly gaining my strength, but even so, I have more get-and-go now than I did ALL last year.

Now I have a lot of catch-up-clean-up work to get done in the garden

In this part of the country many cemeteries don't allow plantings around individual graves. They want mowing to be easier and so don't want to have to mow around plantings on individual graves. Often there are flower beds in the cemetery that are planted by the staff there.
