Planting flowers at the cemetery

How many of you still plant flowers on family graves for Memorial Day? Mom and I have done this for years, no other family members volunteer, they have no interest but are happy we take care of the grave sites (six). We are getting tired.

Thank goodness for my new electric garden cart! This morning after using it to spread Mom's load of mulch on all her beds and borders, my brother took it along to the cemetery for us loaded with mulch, flowers, tools, etc. Then I simply drove it all around the cemetery stopping at each grave site. Worked great.

But by 1pm. all three of us were pooped. Mom is 85! You can't keep her down and out of the way. lol

To make this post more flower related, I'll add that we planted dark red geraniums along with some pure white ones, and a few golden marigolds. Not as much as in previous years. We are seeing more and more artificial arrangements on graves, it's easier I suppose and some of them do look nice.
