Banana Cream Shasta Daisies?

Anyone grow this one? The pictures really look lovely. I stumbled upon it looking for something else. But I bet it would look striking if one did a section with Becky daisies in back and this in front.

This website has a you tube video on the Banana Cream Daisies. Look down some, directly under the grouping of four pictures of it in bloom.

Here is a link that might be useful: Banana Cream Video

OMG.... I just saw this for the first time over mothers day weekend.... and lucky you, it was on Long Island! Rita, have you been to the Peconic Herb Farm in Calvarton? It's awesome and they HAVE the banana cream shasta! I treated myself to "blue mouse ear Hosta" a dwarf cutie. I'm very mad at myself now though for not getting the banana cream shasta... very mad. I live in NJ and was visiting "home" in Sayville. I was being frugal and only treated myself to one plant for mothers day. Anyway, go go go and get one. I think they were about 12-15$ but think of how lovely it is... and don't forget ... Propogation!!! hehe www.prherbfarm.com

Oh they look cute. I wish I have them here.

BTW newyorkrita, I just arrived back from NY & NJ and enjoyed it so much. I love the energy of Manhattan on a Sat. afternoon. Do you live near the city?

Fortunately I do not live that close to Manhattan which I avoid like the plague.

And I have been to Peconic River Herb Farm but not this year. It is quite the drive for me to get all the way out to Riverhead as I am on the north shore of Nassau County.

They probably have the Banana Cream at our more local nursery, can't remember. I know I will be looking for them on my next nursery trip. Don't they just look divine?

This is what I remembered from last year and wanted to get. I just couldn't remember the name of the variety. I am wondering if they are going to have these Banana Cream ones at the local nurseries this year.

Very pretty and look at the multiple blooms on each stem. Shasta Daisies are another favorite of mine, of the ones I have Summer Snowball is my favorite but that could be changing in the near future. I just salvaged a piece of Cobham Gold from a bed overrun by couch grass. I'm still looking for Wirral Supreme a variety I lost about 10 years ago but no-one seems to grow this one around here anymore.

I ordered it last year and they were out of them. Great Gardens was the company. I have been busy with other things (the shed) and have ordered little this year.

I would like to add them as I would like to finish up that garden area that I was working on last year. I just planted my Becky Shasta Daiseys in there. I had planted my Delphs and transplanted a Hollyhock. I have yarrow, short shastas and purple coneflowers in the front and fancy colored coneflowers to the side and back. I would like to put in these Banana Creme and some more of the Seduction series yarrow to finish it up.

Picked mine up today - and it was part of a promotion for Cancer research (all yellow flowers for cancer and then another display of all pink for breast cancer). After reading this, I couldn't pass it up

I purchased these from mail order in Spring 2010 and it did so nicely last summer, that I divided it last fall. I am so happy with it this year that I plan on dividing it again. These are perfect front of the border daisies. If I knew how to post photos on this site, I would share as I am snapping away at this every day like a nut!!!
I wanted to share this with anyone who loves shasta daisies.

I got the last one at our nursery last summer. I'd never heard of it and my WS has left my reluctant to spend money on gallon plants, but this one was worth the $6 my local nursery charges. It's been a very nice short daisy with lovely color and will easily be divided this fall. My Marconi Shastas have just begun their first few blooms, regular Shastas look ready to start tomorrow, and White Knight Shastas are still a little bit away. My Banana Cream looks to be more on the White Knight schedule so is not quite ready to bloom this week. Really is a beautiful daisy.
