You are correct that the second photo is foxglove.

Top is dock, Rumex species. Next to it is a Dandelion, Taraxacum sp. and in amongst the grass is Glechoma hederacea, Ground Ivy.

Thanks!! I might rescue the dock, and see how it grows. I never knew good old invasive creeping charlie had a fancy name!! I will not encourage it!!

3 things:

1. To most people the dock would be a nuisance perennial weed. It will 'do' very well - probably better than you want.
2. It will have a very long tap root so will need deep digging to remove.
3. All plants have a fancy name, however lowly and despised.
