I have a bed that has been neglected since we moved in (6years) and it is overrun with ajuga and weeds. It is in the front yard and open to deer which is why I have been reluctant to put any money into it. However, it is the last "premade" bed that I have not worked on yet, and it definitely has potential aside from the deer. It has mature trees for some shade, a nice rock edge like the other beds I have, and could be a nice focal point one day. However the thought of eradicating the ajuga seems impossible. How bad would it be if I cleared the weeds and tried to plant perennials among the existing ajuga? Would it work or not??
