Pictures of my May Garden

Unlike a lot of you guys, up here in the Northland things are just now popping up out of the ground and starting the season. I went for a walk around the yard tonight and took a few pictures. It was a rainy drizzly walk, but I found a few things to take pictures of. This is our pond, with the old barn and silo in the background. Not much going on down there yet.

A few years ago I started a woodland garden, I planted all sorts of things, of which most died out. But today I spied this lone trio back there blooming and looking so pretty.

I learned a lesson today too, I need to use the tripod MORE. I love the composition of this picture, but it got blurry. IF I had used the tripod this would have been an awesome picture! Our plums started blooming yesterday.

Ahh yes - no one really appreciates spring until they have 6-8 months of winter like we do. Nice pics.

My azaleas, Daffodils and Trillium are blooming now, and all of the perennials are coming up and have that fresh spring green color. Winter is finally over !!!

Love the barn and silo by the pond and the flowers are gorgeous!
The photo of the barn and the plum blossoms is great! You have an artistic eye for compositions - just beautiful! I wouldn't change a thing. I rather like the misty look. If I were to do a painting of your plum blossoms, that is exactly what I would be looking for in my landscape compostion.

I'm also in zone 3b (altho a lot further north) so understand. We've had no frost at night for over a week and lots of rain so everything is very green now and a few flowers blooming.

A pond, how wonderful. I also love the crabapple/barn picture. It seems to beckon us back to a bygone era.

Every spring when my plum trees bloom, the Quince, Forsythias and Bridle's Wreath Spirea also start blooming. It is like a faeryland. The white plum blossoms look like they are made of popcorn, but they are fragrant. The honeybees fill the trees and there is an intense "humming" throughout the garden. I love that time of the year.
Your photos remind me of that time in my garden.
