'Black Adder' Agastache

Hmm. I tried to resurrect an old thread about this and it didn't work, so please forgive me if it suddenly appears like I'm obsessively posting about agastache. So aannnyway.... I planted some 'black adder' last fall and it was maybe 2+ feet tall (as the tag said). I just came back from vacation and it went CRAZY while I was gone -- must be at least 4 feet tall and it's not even blooming yet. I was trying to take some pics this morning but the glare was killing me on my phone so I couldn't really see what I was getting and the tops got cut off, but you can get the drift:

So, could this be some other agastache actually? Or has anyone else had it get HUGE for them?

Not familiar with 'Black Adder'. Last fall I bought some 'Heatwave' Agastache. It was about 2' tall and in bloom. This year it's been blooming for maybe two months and is more than 4' tall. I've already decided that one patch of it has to be moved next spring. I've found that tags and online descriptions aren't always accurate.

Yep -- agastache 'Black Adder' and 'Purple Haze' can grow much taller than specified if they get rich soil and rain. They're lovely plants, so I don't mind! Unlike many agastache varieties, these two are tolerant of more moisture and respond. I've had those grow to 5' in the first year.
