Plant ID -- Nodding Catchfly/Silene Pendula?

I have been enjoying this little plant that grows wild around my house. I've done some searches to try to identify it. Is it nodding catchfly/silene pendula? If not, do you know what it is? The photo is another bad cellphone shot and the color is off because it's in the shade. It's actually a hot pink.

Thanks in advance if you can put me out of my Google-induced misery!

RE: Plant ID -- Nodding Catchfly/Silene Pendula?

I believe it's Silene mexicana. Years ago I purchased the seed from Thompson and Morgan. In my zone 6 it grows as an annual, but reseeds faithfully. Mine has been blooming since mid May and will continue until late June.

I collect the seeds and donate them to the Mid Atlantic Hardy Plant Society for their seed exchange.

Here is a link that might be useful: Mid Atlantic Hardy Plant Society
