I don't have a stand with mine, but I located it under some trees where I have shade until late in the afternoon. At night, I have a great view of the Southern sky which is great when there's a full moon. The woods behind give privacy and I can watch the birds there. It also keeps it cooler as the breeze almost always flows out of the shade into the hotter part of the yard just behind where I was standing to take this photo. I haven't really landscaped much, deciding it should remain natural. I do chop down some weeds from time to time.

I don't have a picture right now but I have mine in the back under some redwood trees and it's on a stand. I really don't much care for the stand and would like to attach it to the trees but was afraid of damaging the trees.
Token, did you anchor yours into the tree trunks? I like the looks of it...so natural looking and inviting!

Yep. I bought 4" eye bolts that would support 300lbs each. That gives me 600lbs of capacity, but the hammock only holds 450lbs. So...I just drilled holes into the tree, smaller than the eye bolts, and used a screwdriver to twist them in.

Im not sure how to edit a post so I hope this works. I didnt like the look of my stand so I went corner to corner on my deck and just hooked the loopes over big bolts i put in so I can take hammock down in the rain.

Holy cow, I haven't been to this site in such a long time(we've been in the midst of a kitchen renovation for the past 4 months almost) but I know spring will be here soon and it's time to start thinking about the gardens :)

What a pleasant surprise to see an old post on the 1st page, haha!

I'll have to update this thread with pictures of my hammock location when I remember. I had the BEST time laying in watching the world go by last summer. The view through my garden was awesome and I LOVED watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds! ahhh, I can't wait for summer!
