Blooms looked sort of "shaggy" so used that in online search.

Looks like could be:

#4265 Simba or Lion's Mane - Tagetes erecta - This version of the old 1940's favorite, the Chrysanthemum marigold, has shaggy petals slightly incurving. Gives a whole new look to the marigold bed. Height: 36in.

Kind of pricey for 15 seeds but you could collect seed for future years.

NOTE: Seeds from vendor linked here are alternatively called 'Simba' or 'Lion's Mane' BUT the variety name 'Simba' is also used by other vendors for another mix of shorter plants with variety of colorations. Just make sure you see photo on vendor site if you order so you get look you want.

The variety 'Simba' was discussed on Annuals Forum back in 2008. People were having trouble finding seeds for it but was confusion between vendors and exact plant they were looking for.
