Rather, I should say the storms came. One last evening about 4:30 to 6:00 or so. Lots of sturm and drang!! I was just entering the supermarket as it started, did my shopping and then came out during a break. We ended up getting just short of an inch of water. There were several short power breaks but not serious in our town. There was a follow-up blow through about 5:00 this morning.

We have about a dozen old locusts not far from the house and

the work of this morning was making a pile of blown off branches, sticks and leaves. There are two pieces--one locust and one redbud that are too big for me to handle and

two large branches which are about 20 feet up in a little

locust grove which is away from our house. We were lucky.

This is the first measurable water we have received since May 1!! Joy, joy. It was 100 before the storm yesterday, mid seventies overnight, and now 85 and still rising so the heat wave is not over.

Tasks coming next--continuing to get the vinca and grass out of my perennial beds, cut back the daylilly foliage which browned and dried before the plants bloomed and move

a couple things.
