When it rains . . . pick peonies!

| I have a huge peony bed lining the driveway. We had a month of drought, but just like clockwork the rains arrived when the peonies were at their peak. After 2 days of seeing them lying in the dirt, I just went out and cut a bunch. After 11 bouquets I got tired of picking. Barely made a dent.
Here's a photo of 9 vases full (already gave away one to Dad for father's day and one to my sister.) The rest are going into school tomorrow for the kids teachers.
There are probably close to 200 blooms here! Mostly Sarah Bernhardt because she flops the most.

| That is so beautiful. When I was about your daughter's age, Mama used to have great bouquets of peonies on the dining room table ready for church and the cemetery. Your daughter will remember these forever, particularly the fragrance. Lucky teachers, to receive such a grand bouquet. Nell |

| I got one measly bloom this year. Your picture in the other thread of that bed is heaven. I bet people miles away can smell your yard. Beautiful. |
