Holy cow!!! That fern leaf peony is huge! Is it one plant, or do you have a few in there? I can only hope mine gets that big. Do you put compost on it regularly? Thanks for sharing more pictures.

Oh my, I don't think I've ever seen a fern leaf Peony. Only reason I know it's name is because Thyme2dig said it. It's gorgeous.

Oh there might be more than one plant in there. Last time I dug it up was about 8 years ago. I did take a spade full of it about 3 weeks ago to share with a friend.

You are a VERY nice friend! Those are not easy to come by and are quite pricey. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing mine in years to come. Does yours go dormant in summer?

Those tulips are lovely, but that poppy is to die for! Absolutely gorgeous!

Thyme2dig, it doesn't really go dormant, once the flowers are gone there is just the foliage. I have it next to a beautiful delphinium on one side, and some asiatic lilies on the other. I never knew how pricey these were until just recently, the lady that gave it to me was elderly, and was having some work done in her yard, they would have been destroyed. She gave me the peony, some iris, some asiatic lilies, day lilies and some lily of the valley. These were some of the very first flowers I put in at this house, and I still have most of them. The asiatics almost died out, I didn't know that I was supposed to dig and replant them once in a while!
Since the peony was a gift to me, It's only fair I return the favor once in a while.
