Indian Pink

I bought Indian Pink last year after I seen it on a garden tour of a local home and I'm glad I did. I have it planted in the shade garden that does get filtered sun, the Hummingbirds love it! For those who don't know about this plant the Indians used it to get rid of tapeworm, see visions and as poison in suicidal ceremonies, it is antibacterial, antioxident, used as a laxitive and I just read that it is a promising anticancer drug.

I have a patch of it that I moved from an obscure location last fall to a courtyard bed outside my kitchen window. It only blooms about a month, but it's always a sweet surprise.
