Jennypat, that looks so inviting! Isn't that book just super. I learned quite a bit from it. The biggest thing was the cut flowing plants in teers. The front of a plant lower than the middle. It also delays front bloom a bit, and it looks SMASHING.

LOL, I never did get more than about 8 pages read! I think I am going to like it. I have her other book, and refer to it all the time!

We certainly are optimists! By the end of August I'm totally disgusted, everything burned up, cracks in the ground, ugly, ugly! September not much better, but October comes and everything comes alive again, and then I know why I went through all the work! Then I'm ready to start planning for next spring...

August I do a lot of traveling for my business, I get home and everything is a mess. Dead because they didn't get watered, even though the guy said he watered. Full of weeds, the veggies overgrown etc.

But like you said by September I am ready to go again....then the snow comes in October. Some years there is no time between fall and winter and no time to clean up the garden.

I love it anyway!!! Just so I have one night a year like yesterday!

Yes, you are right, this year has been the fewest mosquitoes I can remember since I lived here. It is very enjoyable! You've encouraged me to sit outside a little more this season. What a great space you have there. Hope you have a few more nights to enjoy it. :-)
