Iris question

Several years ago I was given some iris that look like Louisiana iris. The person who gave them to me said to hold the "leaves" up to the sun and I could see specks in them. That this was how I would know they were this type of iris. But for the life of me I can't remember what kind they are.
They now have huge seed pods.

RE: Iris question

Are you thinking of maybe Japanese or Siberian iris? These types seem to have a few things in common with Louisiana Iris, according to this article that talks about the different types, which makes me think you might need a special way (such as looking for leaf specks) to tell them apart.

Here is a link that might be useful: Types of Iris
