Shearing a thread-leaf coreopsis

I don't have the patience to deadhead as many buds as the 3 threadleaf coreopsis has so I've started shearing them off. Did a search of several sites and it stated that was one way to deadhead the plant and it would rebloom. In Sept. I can dig the plant up and divide and tranplant many divisions which I hope to get at that time. It is very humid today and sprinkling but we are desparate for rain that the meterologist keep predicting. I sprayed Miracle Grow solution on the front flower beds. Managed to shear back only 2 or the 3 coreopsis plants and developed a blister so that's it for today. I can work on the other plant tomorrow or later today.

Have any of you had any expericience deadheading your coreopsis this way? Did it rebloom?
