Some photos from this long weekend

A couple photos:

Iris "Romantic Evening" -- the last of the Irises to bloom this year. It is in the "temporary holding area" part of the garden, which actually gets quite a bit of shade during the afternoon, which is probably why it bloomed last ... this area also gets weeded much less frequently, as you can see :)

Rose "Baron Girod de L'Ain", an OGR (Hybrid perpetual)...it is a deep crimson with beautiful white edges on the flowers:

Rose "Celestial", an OGR (Alba) ... such an incredible colour, almost iridescent:

My current favourite combination in the garden, Ninebark "Diablo" and Rose "Souvenir Du Dr Jamain", an OGR (Hybrid Perpetual):

The rose and ninebark combo really is nice!! I'm envious of your cherries - they're actually very pretty.

I love your iris...heck everything! Thank sor posting the pics! I am so pleased with how the roses are doing this year, they seem to like the cooler spring/summer we are having on the coast here in BC. It has been my best rose year yet! Now I want to go buy more!heh heh!

Thank you ... the ninebark and rose were kind of planned, but I didn't realize just how nice they would look together with the dark foliage, white lacey flowers and deep red roses. I do love it :)

GothicLibrarian - not sure which Hydrangea you mean? If you mean the long distance shot in the 3rd photo, those aren't hydrangeas but Peonies ... they are gorgeous up close when the entire peony hedge there is blooming!
