Transplanting a rose

I have a nice healthy rose - not sure of the name, but it looks like a wild rose. I transplanted it, this past week, and it looks like I killed it. It is wilting horribly, especially in this heat. I water it several times a day. Does this sound typical? Do you think it can survive? I feel terrible.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but summer time is the worst time to transplant a rose. I killed one several years ago w/too much trimming in late summer. They just can't take that kind of stress. Don't give up on it until you've given it a bit of time. After a few weeks, you can scratch one of the major canes to see if there's green left. It there's green, it's alive.
