Temporarily Out of Order

Do you think birds can read :). I gave one of the birdbaths a good cleaning the other day, when I went back to refill it I thought maybe I should put up a Temporarily Out of Order sign. Basil, our cottage garden kitty decided it was a cool place to take his afternoon nap.

Awww, that is so precious! My kitty has been doing the same thing when there's no water in the BB. They like the coolness of the concrete.

That is priceless!! If they fit, my guys would try that!! lol. They mostly just drink from them. I just watched Nici head out to hunt in the swamp across the road, or maybe the neighbours there have catnip! I worry about the road, but he is the adventurer. Thanks for sharing that, Annette. I'll bet the birds get it, sign or no!!

Great picture of your cat! Mine have been enjoying the cushion I made for the porch swing.....all day long. They know a good thing when they see it.

Basil is our outdoor cat, we inherited him when our previous neighbors moved and couldn't take him with them. We offered to look after him until they were settled in a place where they could have him. After a year went by they decided to leave him with us. We've always had inside cats with the exception of Annie a orange long hair tabby who adopted us.
Basil had always been an outdoor cat and a darn good ratter, the neighbors love him, but he's in his teens now when the cold weather comes he's quite happy to stay in.

Goldenpond, Basil is black but is exhibiting his summer tan :), he only comes in to eat and maybe take a short nap during the heat of the day during spring and summer, that will all change when the weather gets cooler.

I thought it made a cute picture but I should of posted it over on the gallery side.
