| I remember discussing this purple blooming weed on the Cott. Garden forum not too long ago. It resembles a thistle but it is not. |

| Hi Schoolhouse, a lovely little weed called Knapweed Centaurea nigra,..it has a beautiful purple like bloom. Lovely Bouquet. |

| The flower in the bouquet looks more like Centaurea scabiosa to me (Greater Knapweed) than C nigra (Common Knapweed) It has longer ray florets than C nigra. |

| Schoolhouse, I think "Snotweed" probably only blooms during allergy season. |
