Oh wow, what a sight for sore eyes, you have a such lovely garden. Those scalloped edges around your flower beds sigh... and you have one of the nicest lawns I've seen in quite awhile.
I've spent the last couple of days digging out a very overgrown bed, removing a huge 15 or better year Schizophragma vine that has never bloomed, I warned it last year if you don't bloom your gone, it's gone. Once I've finished cleaning the bed up it will be mulched and left to be planted in the spring.

a beautiful landscaped garden,..my eyes wandered about thanks to the curved edgings,..and i agree with Aftermidnight,..that is one well kept healthy lawn.

Everything is so pretty. Very peaceful and serene to me.

Love the beds, pretty colors, nice edging. I think I see that your beds are somewhat raised. I wish I would have considered doing that when I created some of my borders around the courtyard.

aftermidnight, this week I'm going to start ripping out my side flowerbed, it has 40 years of putting in a 4" pot of mint and some oregano (I think), then planting various plants that I had dug out of other beds and didn't know what to do with them. What a mess, and I will do the same as you, get it out, then wait to plant. Don't imagine I will ever be successful with getting all the mint out...

As far as the raised bed goes, had to have 60 yards of landscape soil put down in a slight berm; that part of the yard was low, and I would have a lake every time it rained hard in the winter.

sandi, your description of "peaceful and serene" means so much to me. Many of you know my husband has terminal cancer and I retired over a year ago to be home with him. When he's resting I go out and work in the yard, it's my salvation!
