Do you grow godotia?

I bought a bouquet of Godotia at the local grocery store and I loved the blooms. Do any of you gardeners grow it?

I've read you grow it from seed, and suspect my areas is not ideally suited for it, but I am going to try it next spring anyway. I was curious about what luck you had with it.

Here in CA it grows easily from seed. It has a number of different names, and there are different types. Around here I usually see it called Clarkia instead of Godetia, and there is also Elegant Clarkia which looks entirely different and is a tall spiky plant. Both are native species.

I love Clarkias and miss see them growing on the foothills every spring in South Calif. So many varieties and colors. Never tried to grow them here.

Well, I have spotted seeds and I know it will be too hot here, but I will give it a try. I have a bouquet on my desk with some of the lavender ones in it right now. I just really like it. And thank you for the answers.
