| I just picked some ripe lupin seeds from a very pretty cherry red lupin. Would it be possible to start them now under lights, put them outside while it is cold, then plant them out in the springtime, to get flowers next spring? Or should I just chuck them in the flowerbed and let them do their own thing? Annette, I saw on a previous thread that you have started lupins in years gone by, so I certainly would appreciate your input. |

| Dotty, I planted mine in the greenhouse in four inch pots in a flat, I can't remember if it was July August or September. I think I left them in the greenhouse until spring then planted them out. You have a cool greenhouse don't you, try starting them under lights and then put them in the greenhouse for the winter. They will probably die back but should have a strong enough root system to survive. It wouldn't hurt to direct sow a few seeds I wouldn't just broadcast them when I've done this the critters get them. Annette |
