A friend who lives in a nearby city emailed last night and said he had all of four trick or treaters. He said basically the same thing, "What's up with that?"

We don't usually get too many ghoulies either, although we had some out-of-the-neighborhood drive-ups this year. In all, about 15. My son was disappointed, too. He lives in a condo/townhouse complex nearby and had only two despite an elaborately carved jack-o-lantern on his patio in front. He called around 7:30 to say he and his SO had eaten half their candy already. I have lots of leftover candy which will go to school with me in the morning for fellow teachers-unless I manage to make it disappear before then!
