The lantana loves your sun! What are the names of your asters? I really like their airiness. Crassula is cool.

I havn't a clue what the name of those asters is.I used to pass by this house on my way to and from work everyday and this lady had them growing all over the place when there wasn't much else in bloom.One day i saw a lady working in the yard,so stopped and asked her what they were,she didn't know,said she was just taking care of the yard while her friend was on vacation.

She told me to stop back by the following week and talk to the owner,so i did,and she gave me some babies and some seed if memory serves me correctly.When i told her how much several of us liked those,she gave me enough to share.Very nice lady.Then again gardeners are always nice,imho

The asters look a bit like smooth asters, though I don't know if the foliage is the same. I don't grow it , but I googled it.

Beautiful pictures! You refer to the "strap" as if we should know what it is. I've never seen anything like it. I assume it's a sedum and are those star things really its flower? If so, that is one of the coolest flowers I've ever seen. Do you know a more precise name so I can look it up? Not like I can grow it here in Indiana though. LOL

Bev,Sorry about that,i forget what forum i'm posting to at times.Yes those stars are the flower of that plant.I believe it belongs to the crassula family or maybe sedum??It's called a stapeliad,and there are many different varieties of it.I have several pots of that one,and i also had one that the flower looked a bit different and was 13" across.Some of them smell pretty bad,which is probably why you don't see too many.I say just don't plant them close to the doors or windows and you're ok.If you google Stapeliads,you'll see all the different kinds.Very interesting plant!!
