| I planted one earlier this fall. It's pretty much done blooming. When do I cut it back? |

Natal, I was doing some reading, and it seems that you are ok in your zone to cut it back now if you want, BUT....fall plantings of mums are more likely to freeze than spring planted (which had more time to establish). And the articles i've read give much more cautions for northern zones. What I would do would be to shear it back somewhat but not drastically so, just so it looks better and then not cut it very far back. In spring you can cut it back if you want, and if you want fall blooms, you can "pinch back" until late july in your zone. Altho most sites say 4th of july is last pinching. Laurie |

| I am way north of you, but I don't cut back my mums until spring. I keep the tops for protection. You may not have to worry about that down south. |

| Thanks Laurie & Glenda! It's not real big and since it's planted in a bed with pansies and snapdragons I may just mulch it and wait till spring to prune. |
