Hi cottage gardeners, I posted some photos of luminata irises on the AIS blog today. Some are by Margie Valenzuela, a very talented hybridizer and flower photographer. The link is below if you would like to take a look.

Renee, simply gorgeous, thanks for sharing. Annette

So very pretty! How could you not love that Daughter of Stars? I have some of the old fashioned plain purple and yellow iris, but have been wanting to get some "special" ones. Maybe next year will be the year?

Go for it Marylu- irises are naturals with daylilies and roses. They bloom before the daylily show!

Thanks for posting that link again Renee! I forget about it in between and love looking at irises. I'd like to grow more but haven't had much success with any other than the really old tough varieties. Once I've rearranged my perennial beds I might have to try some of these, they are just gorgeous.

Try some of these, Luckygal. El Hutchison has an iris display garden in Canada. She has photos of what works for her- maybe some of the same ones would work for you. Renee
