    Materials Tools
    17 safety pins 1 1/2" long
    18 pony beads
    19 spaghetti beads
    60 small beads
    12" wire 20 gauge
    18" string
    PVC ring Needle nose pliers
    Wire cutters
    Scissors
    Super Glue

Choose bead colors that will make this slide stand out against your neckerchief.

The small bead should be half or less the thickness of the pony bead to make it look right.

You may have to work to get beads that will fit the safety pin well. You may need to use two or three small beads to get a good fit.

If you are making this with a group have everyone gather all the materials first.

    Assemble 17 safety pins
Be sure to use the exact same pattern for all.
If you are using three small beads put one bead on first, then the spaghetti bead, then the last two small beads.
If you are using two small beads put the spaghetti bead on first, then the two small beads.
Put the safety pins on 4" wire
Bend a small loop in one end of the wire with needle nose pliers.
Put one small bead on the wire.
Put one safety pin (through the loop part of the safety pin) on the wire. Make sure all the safety pins face the same direction.
Alternate one small bead and one safety pin until finished.
    End with one small bead.
Pull the beads tight then bend another small loop in the other end of the wire.
    Cut off excess wire.
Put safety pins on 8" wire
Bend a small loop in one end of the wire with the needle nose pliers.
Put one pony bead on the wire.
Put one safety pin (through the small opening in the clasp) on the wire.
Alternate one pony bead and one safety pin until finished.
    End with one pony bead.
Pull the beads tight then put another small loop in the other end of the wire. Make the loop large enough so that the beads won't slide off.
    Cut off any excess wire.
The dangles can be made with any combination of beads, real feathers, conchos, or small silver feathers. These are all available in leather craft stores. Assembly of the dangles is similar for all. The directions below make dangles similar to the beads on the safety pins. The photo above uses the beads with a real feather added to the bottom of the dangle.

    Add dangle decorations
Take a 5" piece of string and put it half way through one of the wire loops at the end of the 4" wire.
Bring the ends of the string together and put on a small bead, spaghetti bead, and two small beads.
Put one end of the string through a small bead.
Put the other end of the string through this bead in the opposite direction.
Tie the two ends of the string together using a square knot.
Put a small drop of superglue on the knot to hold it fast.
    Cut off any excess string.
    Repeat with other dangle.

    Attach a PVC ring.
Take an 8" piece of string. Run it behind the 7, 8, and 9 safety pins.
Put both ends through the PVC ring.
Take one end of the string and thread it back behind the 7, 8, and 9 safety pins.
Pull the ends of the string tight and tie them together using a square knot.
Put a small drop of superglue on the knot to hold it fast.
    Cut off any excess string.

    Enjoy

    Mary
