I have just cut my pussy willow...I have 3 bushes in my yard....my guess is that you have cut them to early...they have to have alot of tight buds showing before they will open when forced. Let them grow a little more on the bush...be careful when you force them and not let them stay in water to long are they will open to much. Hope this info helps. Nora P.S. when you cut them...cut at an angle...then take a hammer and hit the ends several times...this will allow them to drink the water good.
