Haaaa this gave me such a smile. But next time you go into a pet shop and find yourself faceing a wall of those little containers take notice of something. None of them are gasping for air. You take a Gold fish ( the nearly indestructible carp ) and put those in the same container and after 5 mintues they'd be on the surface gulping air. Not the betta, he'll sit at the bottom of that air depleted water dreaming of getting at the other betta on the other size of his glass prision. Even now sitting here I can't think of any other fish fresh water or salt that can pull that off.
