Thanks! I'll have to check it out. Right now I have a silly female cardinal who keeps flying around us. She's a littly pesty... She acts distraught. I'm wondering if she lost her nest. We also saw our first hummingbird feed this season, but she hasn't come back to the feeder since. I'm wondering if the cardinal scared her off.
For those of you trying to keep your cement bird bath clean, I found a scouring pad and water work really great. It's inexpensive and doesn't require a lot of effort, either. You must always make sure you rinse it out very well after cleaning it though.

I have placed rubber snakes near the areas I don't want birds, that seems to help my problem. As for getting them to the birdbath, if the water is in the sun and hot, they won't get in it. try partial shade for the bird bath.
and do not put bleach or other chemicals in the water.

Thanks for the info.! OOPS, I did use bleach to clean it. I guess I'm going to have to rinse it well. I had read that one should place a drop of bleach in the bird bath every time it's filled in order to help it maintain its cleanliness. That doesn't seem safe, so I have never tried it.
