Question for artificial arrangment experts!

Posted by seadweller (My Page) on

Greetings,

I'm trying to track down a very specific steel floral pick/spike that is typically used to secure artificial fruits. It's around 2" - 3" long, and looks like an arrowhead that has been bent into an "L" shape lengthwise. I guess you could say it's "V" shaped, and has serrated edges. It's designed to be wired to a wood stick/dowel for securing artificial items into the foam in flower arrangements.

I've scoured the web and local stores, and can't find a thing. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks!!!

RE: Question for artificial arrangment experts!

mmmmmm....your description sounds like the steel picks I use in my pick machine. I usually can buy them at Michael's or any craft store. WalMart usually carries them too, only in smaller packages. And although you can wire the wooden pick to the metal one or vise-versa, I just use the machine to clamp the metal pick onto the blunt end of the wooden one (cut off or hold back the wire on the wooden one), then insert the wooden pick into the fruit. The metal pick with it's barbs, will help to hold the fruit firmly where you put it. I've never seen a metal pick specifically for fruit. Hope this has been of help to you.
cora
