I have made honeysuckle wine. It is the best!! I suppose you could make jelly out of the flowers, too. May be a way to make perfume or essential oil out of the flowers.

Okay, SaraLL. I gotta know how to make wine from honeysuckle. I've made potatoe wine, dandelion wine, pumpkin wine, elderberry, blackberry, & corncob wine. But this is the first time I've heard about honeysuckle wine. Please!!! I don't actually drink that much wine - I just enjoy making the stuff.

I know this is a really old question here, but I have a ton of wild honeysuckle and we cut some down at intervals when we have time. Do the branches make nice wreaths? I put some in a wreath once with leaves and flowers attached and it looked funny when it dried, so do you think stripping them off first would be better? Anyone done this? I also make grapevine wreaths, but have more honeysuckle than grapevines in my yard, although there are plenty of each. Also lots of dogwood, made a 'test' heart shaped wreath from red dogwood, that looked nice.

In our area Native American women boil the vines. Strip off the bark with the copper dish scrubbers and use it to weave baskets. Here is an example. EP
