I think it's a little strange. How about making somethinng and putting your cat's ashes inside it, rather than mixed in it. I just think the idea of its body being a part of some chemical reaction a little harsh.....no offense :)

and unless it was something other than a house cat (like a puma) I wouldn't worry at all...

it's an 'odd' but not uncommon practice to use the ash either as a glaze component, or as part of the 'packing' in a Raku firing, in communities with earth-influenced potters.

'strange' is mummifying it or having it stuffed, and leaving it on the couch.
