terra-cotta pot wedding favor

I am giving terra-cotta pots as favors for a fall wedding. The saucer will be placed on top. I will tie it up like a package with ribbon and a small flower.

I would like to put the wedding couple's names and date on the pot but my handwriting is poor. Any suggestions as to how this could be done? I'm not sure about stenciling and it would be too tedious letter by letter for so many pots.

Also, how about the contents of the pot? My original idea was to place a blub inside with instructions on how to plant it. Are there certain bulbs that do better than others or would seeds be better?

Any novel ideas about the contents of the pot?

Maybe you could print up labels on the computer? You could also go to www.myownlabels.com and have them print them up.

You could put netting around the pot & tie it at the top with satin ribbon & make a little tag on the computer with their names & the date & maybe even a little poem. Put a hole in the tag & run the ribbon thru it.
I have seen this done with seed packets inside the pot.
Do the ribbons & netting in a coordinating color to the bridesmaids dresses.
Did you do a search on the web for wedding favors for some ideas?

What if you had a little sprig already growing in there. I think it would be cute and symbolic of the wedding, like the beginning of something new.

Hi,
You can write the bride and groomÂs names, the wedding date or another personal message on each pot using permanent markers or paint markers.

Tie the ribbon in a bow around each pot, either around the thick rim or just below the thick rim.

Insert a packet of personalized flower seed into each terra-cotta pot.
Fill each pot with small candy or mints in front of the flower seed packet. Good Luck with the Wedding.

You could try lily of the valley pips. They grow very easily and can then be planted outside
