I think we have the same problem. My red twig dogwood has looked terrible all summer. The entire shrub is a brown spotted mess. We've had a lot of rain here, all spring & summer, but this plant is supposed to like water. On the other hand, last summer, in the drought, it looked fine -- go figure! It must be a virus, but I don't know what to do about it?

Is a red twig dogwood the same thing as a red osier dogwood?

My red twig dogwoods have a white fungus of some sort just at the base where the branches fan out. The leaves and upper branches seem fine and vigorous. What is this and how should I treat it?
