I have a HUGE lamb's ear plant that is over a yard across. At least I think it is lamb's ear. But I am wondering what I can use it for, I mean it is very cool looking, but I heard you can make craft projects with the leaves. Do you dry them or what??? Also is this plant an annual, or will it continue to get bigger ?? Thank you to anybody with answers to any of these Q's!!

| I've seen leaves of lambs ears glued to pots/small boxes, etc - very nice looking. I'm pretty sure they were glued on while pliable, and not dried. Lambs ears (Stachys) is a perennial and dislikes wet conditions. With a large plant such as yours you might notice the center dies out, but they're very easy to dig up, break apart and transplant healthy sections. They look kinda ratty in spring - I take a leaf rake to mine, quite ferociously, to get rid of any dead stuff and they come back just fine. |

Thank You so much for the info Pudge!! I am so ec=xcited ti have such a cool looking plant that wasn't even on purpose...I don't know where it came from but sure do and will continue to enjoy it!! Do you know if I separate it like you mentioned, if the additional plants will also get huge?? I will have to plant them with enough space to spread out!! Janet |
