painting on tile

I'd like to make plant markers by painting on tile. What kind of paint do you use? What do you cover it with once it's done?

I use regular ole acrylic paints, but cover them with modge podge or polyeurethane. Red devil also makes a polyeurethane paint combo, but I've never tried it on tile. Good luck to you. Now, do you know how to make a birdseed wreath?

Thanks for the reply, nrusinak!
No, I don't know how to make a birdseed wreath, but it looks like a cool project.
How long can I expect the painted tile last in the garden?

RE: painting on tile

there is a paint called Patio Paint......that is made for outside.......check it out at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.....
