It's been extremely humid in central NJ these past few days and mushrooms are popping up everywhere. This is a photo of one of the more interesting ones I've seen. It's a stinkhorn but I don't know if it's Mutinus elegans, or M. canius. The picture in the Audubon Society book of M. elegans doesn't quite look like it and they don't show M. canius but the description seems closer. Anyone know?
