Help - powdery mildew

I have a staghorn fern than I've had in a pot for several years. It hangs above my kitchen sink in the side of an eastern facing window. Since I didn't really understand how big the plant would get I potted it up with a pitcher plant. Both have been very happy... until now. I think my housesitter overwatered it when I was gone. I noticed that one of the fronds was brown and rotting and went to cut it out and let some air into the dirt. I discovered what looks like powdery mildew all over the fronds.

I want to repot the two plants and get rid of the infestation? How do I get it off without killing the plant? Or do I need to start again with a new baby?

Thanks,

Feegle
